Cashcrate Birthday Month - Earn some Extra Cash

I just wanted to let you know that Cashcrate, my favorite no cost business opportunity is celebrating its birthday this month.

Cashcrate doesn't cost anything to join (ever) and although it is by no means my biggest earner, the fact that I can earn a few hundred dollars every month from a program that costs absolutely nothing and takes very little of my time means that it is one of my top recommendations.

In the month of March they are offering bigger referral bonus commissions and a chance to win prizes for everyone who participates.

There are two ways to earn with CashCrate:

1) By completing short offers and surveys (usually only available to people who live in the USA, Canada, UK & Australia)

2) By referring other people (available to everyone regardless of where they live).

You can join for free and be earning within the next hour:

Is it Possible to Generate Passive Income?

One of the things that many people are seeking online is a passive income. The question is is it really possible to generate income streams that are truly passive? If so, how do you go about doing this?

I've been working from home online full time now for nearly 3 whole years. My income is not fully passive, so I do have to actually put in a few hours every day in order to maintain my income.

, I do have a number of income streams that are truly passive. If I were to go on vacation now for a year, I could still generate a decent portion of my income, without touching my computer.

So, how do you generate passive income?

The first thing you must have if you want to generate income automatically is your own website. Unfortunately it's not just a case of setting up a website and waiting for the money to pour out like a cash machine :-)

Once your website is up and running you need to monetize it with income streams e.g. Affiliate Products (preferably ones that offer at least 50% commission and a residual income) or Google Adsense or Business Opportunities. To improve conversions further you should also set up an autoresponders series and try to capture the email address of your visitors.

Once you have tested your website to ensure that it is profitable you need to be prepared to spend a lot of time over the following months building up traffic to your website. The best way to do this is by optimizing the pages on your site for popular keyword phrases and getting your site ranked in the search engines.

After time, you will find that the traffic is coming steadily to your website and you are generating passive income. Unfortunately the word "passive" for many people is confusing as it indicates that little or no work is required. To generate passive income on the internet you must put in the work initially and be prepared to work at it for many months before you can reap the rewards.

Visit my legitimate business opportunities page to see some of the methods I use to generate passive income from my website.

Creating Multiple Streams Of Income Is Vital In Today's Economy

I think it's fair to say that everyone should consider creating multiple streams of income today.

In this post I'll talk about why it is critical to create income streams in multiple ways thanks to the crazy world we work and live in.

1. First of all the company you are working for is not guaranteed to be in business tomorrow. If Chrysler or General Motors can almost fail no company is safe from going out of business.

If the company you are working for is brand new this is even more of a reason to get extra income coming in from other sources. If the company you work for has been around for a while, you should look at it to see if it's oversized for the profit it is creating, or if it's lean and mean.

2. The job that you have could be phased out tomorrow as well. It's not unusual to walk into Burger King and see a 50 year old man flipping burgers. A week ago the same person could have been a mid-level manager earning a solid income. Nobody's job is safe in today's economy.

3. If you currently have an Internet income coming in you should create multiple income streams as well. There is no Internet business that is immune from failure either.

When you look at large affiliate programs such as Click Bank or Commission Junction it is not out of the realm of possibility to consider they could go under someday themselves. f you have all of your Internet income tied up in one source you need to diversify.

4. You should consider multiple niches when branching into multiple streams of income. It is smart to have income in more than one niche because of all the many ways to earn money on the Internet today.

Affiliate programs are a great way to do niche marketing. Information products work very well for ways to create multiple streams of income too. This is one of the real benefits that comes from having an Internet business.

In summary hopefully you are getting the idea that creating multiple streams of income is critical in a worldwide economy today. No company or individual is safe from potentially going out of business or losing their job. This means the same thing could happen to you and you should protect yourself in case it does.

Make Money Online Without A Website Or With A Website: Which Is Best?

You can make money online without a website. You can also use a website to make even more money. Let's look at a few of the advantages and disadvantages of making money without a website versus with a website.

One of the best ways to make money without your own website is to do joint ventures with other Internet marketers. You can make money doing all the leg work and split the profits with another Internet marketer who has a website.

An example of this would be doing a tele-seminar with a professional Internet marketer who has a product for sale. You put the tele-seminar together and promote it via his own website.

You conduct the interview on the tele-seminar with the guru and people buy his product. The two of you split the profits.

Another way to make money online without a website is to do things such as typing at home, data entry, and paid surveys. You do not need a website to do this. You will need a computer with Internet access and an e-mail account.

Affiliate marketing is an example of how you can make money without a website of your own. The affiliate merchant provides you with marketing materials including an affiliate website to promote. You promote it and make sales and earn money from that website.

Many people make money online providing services such as being a blog writer. You can set up a free blog with and use that as your homepage. You can promote your business in social networking venues and make money writing for other bloggers.

The main disadvantage to doing any type of promotion online without a website of your own is you cannot build in the long term benefits from it. Having your own website allows you to make changes to content and any other products whenever you want. It's also an excellent way to build your own mailing list.

A website is also virtual real estate. If you decide down the line that you no longer want to maintain your website you can sell it. It is possible to make a lot of money from selling your website if it is a profitable one.

Making money online without a website is entirely possible, but if you want to make serious money in the long term it is best to setup a website.

SFI and my President's Club Interview

If you are looking to start a free or low cost home business then SFI is a good choice. Not only is it free to join, but the site has excellent training to help you get started making money on the internet.

You can join SFI for FREE here.

I have been a member of SFI since 2004. It was the very first online business opportunity that I joined and has taught me a lot. I also receive a nice monthly check from them and I am usually listed in the Top Ten Sponsors on the SFI leader board.

Last year I became a member of the SFI Presidents Club for top sponsors and sellers. Unfortunately it doesn't come with a free cruise to Hawaii but if you are a member of SFI you can read my interview by clicking on the Leaderboard link and then clicking on the President's Club.

If you are not a member of SFI I have pasted my interview below for you to read.

SFI President's Club Interview - Suzanne Morrison

Q) Is this your first venture into a business of your own? If not, what type of business were you involved with previously?
SFI was my very first venture into a business of my own. I joined SFI in 2004.

Q) What were your initial goals when you joined SFI? How have those goals changed since you joined?
My initial goals were to make a bit of extra income every month and eventually to earn enough to work from home full time for myself. I have now achieved both of these goals and I currently earn a full time income from home from a combination of SFI and some other online businesses.

Q) What SFI product(s) have you most concentrated on selling? Why?
I have focused on the opportunity rather than the products. When I started SFI I was looking for ways to create extra income so it made sense to me to promote this opportunity to other people who were searching for online income opportunities.

Q) Without giving way your secrets, what two marketing strategies do you feel are most effective (i.e. offline ads and flyers, pay-per-clicks, personal Website, banner ads, autoresponders, etc.)? Why?
I promote SFI primarily through my home business website and have the most success with a combination of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and autoresponders. My site has an online newsletter and I promote SFI to my subscribers both in the newsletter itself and also by promoting SFI’s $295 value online income course on my newsletter bonus page. I also promote SFI throughout this website using banners, text links, reviews and blog posts.

Q) What is the single most important step to making a sale that you would share with a new SFI affiliate?
I would encourage new affiliates to spend some time reading about SFI, going through the SFI training and learning about the SFI products before they start to promote anything. It is almost impossible to promote a product that you don’t understand so taking this extra time to get up to speed can make a big difference to your success.

Q) What technologies (i.e. cell phone, autoresponders, software, etc.) do you consider most vital for your SFI business?
The technologies that I find most vital are autoresponders and email. I always send a welcome email to my new affiliates and use email to answer all their questions. In addition to this I provide training for my affiliates using autoresponders.

Q) List the following traits in order of importance to your business: enthusiasm, persistence, knowledge, and communication skills.
I would put enthusiasm first, Without enthusiasm how can you sell something to your prospects? It is difficult to sell something that you are not enthusiastic about.

Secondly I would say persistence. A high percentage of online businesses fail. The main reason for this is that people expect instant gratification. They want to be rewarded in a few days or a few weeks with little or no effort. The people who succeed are the people who are persistent.

Thirdly I would say communication skills. You will be much more successful if you can motivate and help your team grow their own income.

Finally, knowledge is also very important but this is something that you can build on as you go along. When I started SFI I had no experience of online business, but I didn’t let this stop me.

Q) How important is following-up with new affiliates to your success?
Very important. I always contact my affiliates immediately after they have signed up to offer them my help and support. I think it is important to let your affiliates know who you are so that they can ask you questions when they need help.

Q) How do you handle rejections?
I see rejections as part of everyday business. Not everyone is going to be interested in the opportunities that you are offering so I expect rejections and don’t let them phase me.

Q) What has been your biggest motivation for making your SFI business a success?
I want to continue enjoying the freedom of being my own boss and working from home and hope never to have to go back to working for someone else.

Q) What has been your biggest obstacle in building your SFI business?
There are a large number of people who expect instant profits or who expect to achieve success with little or no effort. I try to re-educate these people and assist them, but at the end of the day people need to be willing to put in the work to reap the rewards.

Q) How does it feel to join the top movers and shakers in SFI?
It feels fantastic. I enjoyed reading the interviews from the members of the President’s Club when I joined SFI myself and I found them very motivational so I hope that my own interview can help to inspire people who are just starting with SFI.

Q) Where do you want your SFI business to be in a year from now?
I would like to continue to grow my business and my team and I would like to help more of my team members become successful themselves and become team leaders

5 Online Business Ideas for 2009

Do you want to start making money online in 2009? January is a popular time to start an internet business, as everyone is making their new year's resolutions.

There are lots of different way to earn money on the internet, it is just a matter of choosing the method that suits you best. Using the Internet to start an online business of your own makes things far easier than starting from scratch in the offline world.

Here are 5 online business ideas for 2009:

1. Start your own affiliate marketing business. Affiliate Marketing allows you to receive a commission every time you sell someone elses product. Often you can receive commissions as large as 50% and it is easy to get started. You can find a product to sell in virtually any market today as there are literally millions of affiliate programs around the world.

2. Join a network marketing company and work at building a residual income. This has matured into a profitable business model and is a great way to make money online if you enjoy working with people. Building a downline distributorship is one way to create a residual income for a lifetime.

3. Niche marketing is a term that has really taken on a life of its own in the past year and will be an extremely good online business idea in 2009.

Narrowing down a broad theme into a smaller niche is a great way to make money and have fun too. This is especially true if you can find something to sell in an area that you have an interest in or a passion for.

4. Blogging is a good choice if you are good at or enjoying writing. You can also monetize your blog and make money selling advertising on it as your traffic increases.

One easy way to get started with blogging is to create your blog using for free. Blogger is a free blogging platform owned by Google and it is very easy to monetize your blog with Google Adsense and get paid every time someone clicks on an ad.

5. Selling private label rights products is a fast way to jumpstart an Internet business. One of the main benefits is that the product idea has already been thought through and created for you.

As a matter of fact most of the product is created and requires just a little bit of modification on your part to have products ready to sell. Another great thing about selling PLR products is that all the profits are yours to keep.

Make Money from Niche Marketing

If you are a beginner online or if you have been trying to make money from a "home business" or "make money" website without success you may want to consider Niche marketing.

Niche Marketing is all about building a website for a particular niche, promoting that website and making money from affiliate programs, adsense, cost per action (CPA) or perhaps even your own product or service.

A niche can be a large or a small niche and could be a hobby, a sport that you like to watch or participate in, a place that you like to visit, or perhaps just something that you have an interest in.

Examples of niches are: playing tennis, dog training, Thai cookery, visiting Orlando, Hatha Yoga, 1960s movies, scrapbooking, improving golf, digital photography, becoming vegetarian, exercise for the over 50s, fly fishing, buying a home....

The possibilities are endless, but it makes sense to choose an area that you have a strong interest in. This way, you will find working on your website an enjoyable task rather than something you dread.

So how does someone go about getting started with Niche Marketing?

There are many things to think about including:
  • finding a niche
  • researching your niche
  • assessing the competition
  • researching your keywords
  • building your website
  • adding content to your website
  • monetizing your website
  • promoting your webaite

If you feel that this is a daunting task list or you don't have experience in all of these areas you may want to consider getting someone more experienced to help you out.

This is where the Niche Power Group comes in. Myself and 5 others who all make a full time income from home have got together and will take you by the hand and mentor you as you put together a niche website from scratch, or take your existing website into profitabilty. We can help kick start you into action and help you whenever you have a question or when the going gets tough!

To find out more just visit the Niche Power Group and register to be notified of a special offer when we launch in September 2008!

(5) The Home Income Team - the home income team is a free to join program that provides training on how to make money on the internet. What is a Data Entry Job?

What is a Data Entry Job? This is a question that a lot of online opportunity seekers ask.

A data entry job is one of the easiest ways for people to make money from home in their spare time and usually involves filling in forms or writing documents and earning a payment or commission.

Working at home doing data entry mean one of two things. It can either involve working for someone as a virtual assistant, helping with typing up documents and such like or purchasing access to a database of companies that hire data entry workers.

Here are some ideas on how you can find a legitimate data entry job that you can do from home.

1. has a specific category for data entry jobs. There are employers looking for employees to do various things such as data entry, customer service, claims processing, typing, and other things. Many data entry jobs can be done regardless of where in the world you live.

2. provides online classified ads for various jobs. You can sort these by various characteristics including the locaton and title of the job. You may be able to find data entry jobs there that would suit your requirements and that of the employer as well.

3. There are plenty work at home websites on the internet which can also help you to find the right data entry job. Again we would caution you on paying to work for someone, but do expect to pay for information if you choose to buy it.

Data entry clerks should be able to type quickly, accurately, and be very detail oriented persons. You should also be the type of person that doesn't mind sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time.

Many people think that sounds like something they would like to do. Think carefully before you start looking for a data entry job. Is this something that you will enjoy doing and do you feel you can persevere with it to make money.

There are really lots of legitimate home business data entry clerk jobs available and you just need to know where to look. Hopefully this has given you the answer to the question "what is a data entry job?" and given you a few ideas to get started.

How I make Money Online

A few people have been asking me recently how I make my money online.

I think it is very important to diversify your income streams once you start making money online and try to make sure that you don't have all your eggs in the one basket.

For example:
- Try not to rely on a single business opportunity for all your income
- Try not to rely on a single website for all your income
- Try not to rely on a single source of traffic to your website

At the moment I generate my online income from a variety of different sources. These include:

Each of the individual programs listed about brings me between $50 - $800 commission every month. Success University is the biggest payer, followed by Leisure Audio books, Empowerism and Host4Profit.

To show that I am not making this up I have taken some photographs of a few of my recent checks and some screenshots of my income for some of the above programs. You can view these here:

The beauty of many of these programs is that they provide residual income. For example if I sell web hosting one month, I receive commissions every month for that one sale until the customer cancels their hosting account.

Cashcrate Review

I just joined a program called CashCrate a couple of weeks ago and I am pretty excited by both the fact that I have (a) already earned money from this, with very little effort and (b) the potential for earning money from this is HUGE. The fact that this is completely FREE to join and doesn't even have an option for paying any kind of membership fee or upgrade makes it all the more exciting.

Here is a review of the CashCrate Program, which you can join now for free and make a good $20 or $30 in the next hour while sitting on your bum in front of your computer (watching the TVat the same time if you like :-)

What is CashCrate?
CashCrate is a free to join "Paid To" program that will pay you money (in US $$) for completing various offers in the form of short surveys, competitions, forms, trail offers etc. As soon as you sign up you will be presented with a selection of offers along with a link to the offer and a payment. Payment can be as little as 0.40, as much as $35. Typically a payment is around 50-70cents and will usually take you a few minutes to complete.

Who can Join?
CashCrate is open to everyone over the age of 13 years old. Despite the fact that the payment is in US $, you do not have to be a US resident. I am based in the UK and found that there were plenty of offers.

Why do CashCrate pay people to Complete Offers?
Companies need to advertise and/or get people's opinions on new products and services. They often do this using short surveys, prize draws, opinion polls, competitions, trial offers and so on. Cash Crate are paid by these advertisers and will pass on the majority of their earnings to you.

Is there a charge for membership to CashCrate?
No, absolutely not. CashCrate is 100% free and there is no charge for joining.

Do I get rewarded for referring others?
Yes, referring others can make you a lot of money. You will earn up to 30% of the earnings of all the earnings of people whom you refer. Note that this does not impact their earnings - they will still earn the same amount as you would for completing the same offer. Since CashCrate is free, it is much easier to refer others to than a paid program would be.

Do I need a credit card?
No. A few of the offers involve signing up for a trial of something using a credit card, but most of the offers are completely free and you will never be asked for credit card details.

How do I get Paid?
You will get paid by check once your earnings have reached a minimum of $10. $10 is pretty easy to achieve and shouldn't take you long. You can increase the minimum payment if you prefer. I set the minumum to $50 for myself since I am in the UK and we get charged for paying in US$ checks. Payments are processed on the 20th of the month, so all of your July earnings would be sent to you by August 20th.

Do I need to refer people to earn money?
No, not at all. You can earn money by completing offers yourself. Referring people gives you the potential to earn even more.

How do I Join?
Just click here to join CashCrate and fill in the signup form. Within a few minutes you can be earning money.

5 Ways to Make more Money from your Blog for FREE!

Ok, so you don’t have any digital products to offer, you don’t have any tangible goods to sell, you don’t have any special skills you can offer… all you have is a blog.

Now the challenge: how can you earn by using your blog, and JUST your blog?

The fact is, you can earn by using your blog, and JUST your blog. You are not limited to a single earning opportunity when it comes to this avenue. There is a lot of potential in those little web logs which are actually simplified and highly efficient content management systems possessing an interconnectivity that will generate direct traffic and some features that promise prominence in search engine results.

Here are 5 earning opportunities you can consider to fully monetize your web log.

1. Clickbank - Sign up with Clickbank . ClickBank is a well established affiliate network that boasts thousands of digital products you can choose from. Simply search through the catalogue of products appropriate for the subject of your blog, and acquire your affiliate link. Whenever you’re recommending something in your blog entries, mention the products you have chosen and hyperlink the same with your affiliate links. This will lead your readers to the affiliate programs’ sales pages. If they decide to buy, you’d earn a commission per sale you manage to refer.

2. Other Affiliate Networks. Now, you’re not limited to ClickBank alone. There are other affiliate programs out there which you can dig up with some searching magic. There are millions and millions of affiliate programs in the World Wide Web, and some of them even promise a commission rate of up to 80% of the selling price. Just search for "affiliate programs" + the topic of your blog in Google and you will have a wealth of opportunities to choose from.

3. Recommend Books. Want to promote books? Amazon also has an affiliate program that you can enroll with. Simply select the books most appropriate for the subject of your blog, and garner the corresponding affiliate links. Or you can copy and paste a code from Amazon and implement it on your blog. This will display contextually relevant products on your blog which your readers will be able to see. Books are sure sellers. And though Amazon does offer a relatively low commission rate, you’re sure to sell a lot of books through your blog. Everyone loves books! And Amazon is the internet’s most reliable digital bookstore!

4. Pay per Click Advertising. Enroll your blog with Google AdSense or other Pay Per Click (PPC) programs. This will allow the PPC programs to display contextually relevant ads to your blog. Every time a reader of yours clicks on an ad, you’d receive a certain amount of money.

5. Sell advertising space. Whether they’re banners or simple text links, you can command a great price for the valuable “real estate” on your blog. One place where you can sign up to for free and sell your ads is TextLinkAds. Stable Online MLM Business

If you are looking for a stable online MLM business, you must do your research carefully. There are so many scams out there that it can often be confusing and hard to distinguish between genuine stable online MLM businesses and MLM businesses that are full of promises but never deliver.

Here are a few things you can do to ensure that you are choosing the right online MLM business for you:

(1) Check how long as the company been around for. If they have been around for less than a year, it is unlikely that they are stable and you may be taking a risk by joining a young company. This isn't always the case though - every company has to start somewhere and getting in early could be to your advantage.

(2) Look at the Product. Make sure that the company you are joining offers a good product. If there is a very shaky product or no product at all this could be an illegal pyramid scheme. Be careful to learn as much as possible about the product by looking at the company's website, speaking to people and researching carefully.

(3) Do your research and read reviews. It's easy to find out about most online MLM businesses by just doing a search in Google. Search for the company name and also search for "reviews" alongside the company name. Remember that you will always find some negative reviews, but if you uncover more negative than positive you may want to think twice.

(4) Contact an affiliate or someone from the company. Ask them some questions via email or speak to them on the phone. If you don't get acceptable answers to your questions then this could be a sign of worse things to come.

Here are some stable online MLM businesses that I am currently an affiliate for.
  • Success University - you can give this opportunity a test drive for 2 weeks just by donating $2 to Save the Children. Success University has the most powerful commission structure out of all the companies that I promote. It also has a very strong product - access to hundreds of top quality training courses on internet marketing, finance, real estate, self improvement and more.
  • Empowerism - Empowerism provides high quality internet marketing training, web site templates, leads and a monthly internet marketing magazine for its members. It has a very good commission plan, paying $20 upfront for new members then $7 a month for each subsequent month.
  • Strong Future International (SFI) - Has a massive array of products from magazines, cleaning products, IAHBE membership, books, audios and more. This one is free to join and provides good training for beginners and a strong commission structure.

If you would like any further information about any of these please feel free to contact me.

To combine multiple stable online MLM business opportunities into one, I recommend the Plug-In Profit Site.

Can you make money from affiliate programs without a website?

Is it possible to make money from affiliate programs without your own website?

Many people want to make money by promoting affiliate programs on the Internet but don't have the experience to develop their own website or the cash available to have someone else design their website for them.

Affiliate marketing is very attractive to people who want to start making money from the internet as there is no need to have your own product to sell, no need to bother with packing and shipping and no need to deal with customer enquiries and complaints. All you need to do is to sign up with an affiliate marketing program, which is usually free to join and start picking the products you want to promote. As an affiliate, you are paid commission whenever you direct a visitor to the merchant's site and the visitor actually buys something.

Becoming an affiliate is usually quick and easy, and for the majority of affiliate programs, signing up is also free. Despite these facts and all the benefits promised by affiliate programs, many people are still hesitant to get into affiliate marketing. The main reason for this hesitancy is the lack of a website. This now leads us to the question of whether a website is required or actually necessary in affiliate marketing.

It is true that you can start promoting and marketing affiliate products even without a website; and there are a lot of ways to do this. In fact, many of the affiliate marketing strategies that lead to success do not involve a website. I’ll outline just a few of the main strategies below.

(1) Pay per Click Advertising

If you search for something using Google or Yahoo you may have noticed something at the top or the side of the results page called “Sponsored listings”. Whenever you click on a sponsored listing the advertiser of that listing pays for that click –the cost could be anything from a few cents to a few dollars. You can open an account with Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing or another smaller search engine and start bidding on keywords related to the affiliate products that you are marketing, You will only have to pay a fee if someone actually clicks on your ad. Remember to set a daily budget that you can afford and be sure to read the rules of the affiliate program as some affiliate programs have certain keywords that you are not allowed to bid on.

(2) Offline Promotion

There are many ways to promote affiliate products offline. The most common methods used for this purpose are classified ads, brochures and flyers. Classified ads generally work better compared to brochures and flyers because classified ads in magazines and newspapers usually get a wider audience. Rather than put your affiliate URL on the advert you may want to use tracking service or a URL shortening service such as

(3) Forum Marketing

Forums and online discussions are great avenues for marketing your affiliate products, whether you have a website or not. If you participate regularly in online chats, forums and discussion boards with topics related to your products, you can easily find people who may be interested with the products you are promoting. Most forums allow a signature which you can use to promote your product(s). Just be sure to read the forum rules before making your first post and do not under any circumstances post spam.

(4) Blogging

Starting a blog is much easier than starting a website and requires almost no technical skill. You can sign up for a free blog with and start publishing on your blog straight away. Write posts related to the affiliate products that you are promoting and add affiliate links to your posts. Writing and publishing a post is as easy as writing and sending an email.

(5) Writing and Publishing Articles

Finally, one of my favorite promotion techniques and one that doesn’t require a website is article marketing. If you write a short article related to the product that you are reporting you can add a resource box to the end of the article and put a link to the affiliate program in the resource box. You can then submit your article to hundreds of article directories and get it published on other peoples’ websites all over the internet.

Having a website is not usually a pre-requisite to joining an affiliate program, unless the program owner requires you to have one, but while this is so, I would still recommend that you get your own website, if not now, then maybe at a later stage. Having a website creates a lot of advantages in affiliate marketing. For one, it provides you a place where you can creatively promote not only one of your affiliate products but all of your affiliate products. With a website, you can also advertise your affiliate products to a wider market.

Having a website is not a requirement in affiliate marketing. But with the advantages that it provides, having a website certainly makes affiliate marketing a whole lot easier.

How to make money with resale rights

This is fast becoming my product review, infrequently posted to blog! I just noticed that my last post was over a month ago - Arghh!

I do have another blog which I post to more frequently (like once a week or so) - the Plug-In Profit Site Blog - so I'm not a completely lazy blogger.

It's likely that I will be using this blog from now on just for posting product reviews, special offers and information about new updates to my Internet Business Ideas website.

Things are going pretty well with my internet business these days. My internet income has stayed more or less stable for the last few months as I have been busy with working (at my day job) and getting ready to move house. That's the great thing about residual income - if you slack off for a while you don't need to worry about your income dropping.

I just added a new page to my site today on making money with Resale Rights. On this page I explain the concept of resale rights products and how you can make money from them. I also recommend a few good places where you can get resale rights products - some of them completely free.

You can visit my Resale Rights page now, download some products and start selling them and keeping 100% of the profits (unlike affiliate programs where you are only receiving a percentage).

That's all from me just now!

How to start a Blog and Make Money Online

I've finally got round to writing my second article of this year. It would be far more effective if I could write one every week, but I don't think that this habit will kick in until I am a full time internet entrepreneur :-)

I'm going to use a product called Article Post Robot to distribute my article to article directories, then I will write a review of the software on this blog sometime later this week.

If you are new to the internet and wondering what an earth this blogging craze is all about, or if you already have your own website and you’re wondering why everyone keeps advising you to start your own blog, read on. I’m going to explain to you what a blog is, why you need one, how to set it up, promote it and of course, make money from it.

Blog is short for “web log” and is similar to an online diary or journal. The craze of blogging began in the very late 1990s and has started to become more and more popular over the last couple of years. Almost everyone seems to have a blog these days, from CEOs of large companies to webmasters, from world travelers to teenagers. Even my Dad has his own blog now! A blog allows you to communicate informally with people via an online journal, but it’s more personal and unstructured than a website and easier and cheaper to set up than a website.

If you have your own website, but haven’t yet started a blog you can easily start one using a free service such as Blogger or WordPress. Try to post to your blog at least once or twice a week on topics related to your website. Blogging will help your search engine rankings and open up the communication channels between you and your visitors or customers, encouraging them to interact with you and give them a reason to return to your site in future.

If you don’t have your own website and are looking to set up a blog quickly and easily I recommend opening a free account with Blogger. You can blog about anything you like, for example a hobby, a vacation, your home town, something political, a sport or your business. Just be sure to pick something that you are interested in and knowledgeable about. You can host your blog for free on Blogspot – all you need to do is pick a name that is relevant to the topic of your blog. Once you’ve set up your profile and chosen a template, blogging is as simple as sending an email to a friend.

There are many ways to make money from your blog, but here are a few ideas to get you started:
Ø Google Adsense - this is free to join and easy to set up. The ads will match the content of your blog and you’ll get paid every time a visitor clicks on an ad

Ø Affiliate Programs – sign up for affiliate programs related to the topic of your blog and display links to related products on your blog. Clickbank, Trade Doubler and Commission Junction are good places to start, or do a Google search for “affiliate program” + the topic of your blog to find more affiliate programs. Whenever someone clicks through your affiliate link and buys a product, you’ll receive a commission. If you are knowledgeable about your topic you could also write product reviews to help increase your affiliate sales.

Ø Sell Advertising Space – if you have a popular blog you can charge people to advertise on your blog. This could be in the form of a text link, a banner or a graphic.

You are not going to make money with a blog unless people can find it. As soon as you have started to post to your blog it’s time to start promoting it. You can get your blog noticed by…

Ø Submitting your blog to blog directories – just search for “blog directories” in Google

Ø Asking other bloggers to exchange links with you – you put a link on your blog in exchange for a link from their blog.

Ø Writing an article related to the topic of your blog and posting it to article directories. Remember to include an author’s resource box with a link to your blog.

Ø Pinging blog ping services every time you make a new post – and are two sites you can use to do this.

Ø Participating in forums related to the topic of your blog. Put a link to your blog in your forum signature.

Finally, once you have your blog monetized and you’ve started promoting it don’t forget to post regularly. The most important aspect of every successful blog is frequent posting, so be sure not to let the virtual dust gather over your blog!

Make money from blogging (for free!)

Blogs are becoming more and more popular and a few new ebooks and training courses have been released recently to teach people how to make money from blogs and use them to get more traffic to your website.

One of those products is the Internet Marketing Center's Blogging for Dollars.

After reading the sales page for this course, I couldn't resist and I've just purchased it. I have a few blogs myself so hopefully this will help me make the most out of blogging and tell me where I'm going wrong. I'll post a review on this blog once I've had a chance to digest it.

There's also a new page on my site - Making Money from Blogging for Free which explains the basics of blogging and has links to a few interesting products and useful articles on blogging.

Make lots more money by choosing the right affiliate programs

If you want to make money on the internet, there are numerous lucrative affiliate programs that you can join for free.

In basic terms, all you need to do when you join an affiliate program is add a special link containing your unique affiliate ID to your website or blog. Whenever someone follows that affiliate link from your website and makes a purchase, you are credited with a commission for that sale.

Affiliate programs are good for you because you make money from your website visitors without having to worry about shipping and payment processing. They are also pretty good for the owner of the affiliate program too as they are receiving traffic and sales that they wouldn’t normally have received if they hadn’t come via your website.

If you already have your own website, it should be easy to find affiliate programs that complement the theme of your site. For example, if you have a travel website you can sign up with Commission Junction for free and promote companies such as Expedia and National Geographic. Or you could sign up with the first ever online affiliate program, Amazon and make money by reviewing and recommending travel books. Regardless of your website’s niche you should be able to find some sort of affiliate program to help monetize your traffic.

Most good affiliate programs will provide you with banners, images, links, sample ads and sometimes even articles and emails to help you promote their products. They should also have a support system for you to ask questions, plus statistics and a reporting function to allow you to view your click-throughs and sales.

Affiliate programs for companies that sell physical products such as books and CDs, or travel related products such as hotels, flights and car hire tend to pay a small amount of commission, for example 5%.

If you aren’t lucky enough to be getting thousands of visitors to your site each day and you want to make lots of money from affiliate programs the best plan of action is to choose an affiliate program that has a combination of the following

1. A high commission
2. A residual income
3. Multiple Tiers

Affiliate programs offering a high commission are usually selling intangible goods. Examples of these include e-books, software and membership sites. The owners of these affiliate programs can afford to give large commissions because although there is a cost associated with producing the product, the cost generally stays the same regardless of whether the owner sells 100 copies or 1000 copies. This is why these affiliate programs can offer a commission of 50% and sometimes more, meaning that you can sell less of these products and make more money than you would with a traditional affiliate program offering a 5% commission.

Affiliate programs offering a residual income tend to be those that offer a service such as web hosting or access to a membership site. For example if you direct a visitor from your site to a web hosting company that offers an affiliate program with residual income and that person purchases a hosting package, you would receive a commission every single month, for as long as that person stays with that hosting company. The power of this is that you can build up a more reliable income, which means a steady pay packet during the months when new sales are slow.

Finally, a multi tier affiliate program is one that rewards you for recruiting your own affiliates. As well as receiving a commission for sales that are made through your affiliate link, you will also receive a percentage of the sales made from the affiliates that you’ve recruited yourself.

So it pays to promote affiliate programs, but it pays even more to be choosy when deciding on which affiliate programs to promote. Choosing programs that pay high commissions and offer multi tier or residual income can make a huge difference to your bank balance at the end of each month.
